J. R. Simplot Company Education Council Helps Students Achieve Their Full Potential

“The J. R. Simplot Company’s Education Council is committed to assist students in School District 25 [Pocatello, Idaho] in achieving excellence in education. We will work with the school district and local schools to identify areas that the Council can support and to develop helpful partnerships. The purpose of this Council is to enhance efforts to help students achieve their full academic potential.”  With this mission statement, the Simplot Education Council has worked closely with the local school district for more than two decades, providing assistance in many areas.

Each spring, the Council presents Simplot’s Inspirational Teacher Award.  Any teacher in School District 25 can be nominated. An awards ceremony where the finalists are honored and the winning teacher announced is held the end of April.

The Simplot Education Council also funds a variety of projects called Star Projects in School District 25 each year.  Request forms for that school year are due September 30th.  Please complete the attached application and return to Simplot by that date.  Requests must come from School District 25 staff, and are limited to $750.

The Council can provide hands-on science activities and tours of the Simplot fertilizer facility west of Pocatello.  Click here for a list of potential science modules.  These can also be used in the classroom.
