Simplot has 100-railcar grain facilities both in Pasco and Mountain Home which give us an advantage when purchasing large quantities of corn and other grains.
We also have the advantage of by-products from our own food processing plants at our disposal, which contributes to a competitive, high-quality ration. We test our rations on a daily basis to verify the dry matter is consistent and our feed samples are sent off on a weekly basis to ensure consistency. Our nutritionist, Dr. Todd Milton, works with management, feeding and milling crews, and our cowboys to ensure that all procedures measure up to our strict standards.
We recently completed a steam flaker operation in Mountain Home, which will contribute to better feedlot performance. With Simplot's diversity, we can pass along reduced costs to the customers by utilizing our 100-railcars to transport grain from the midwest.
