Simplot Feedlot Operations
The Land & Livestock Group of the Simplot Company owns two feedlots. These feedlots are located in Grand View, Idaho and Pasco, Washington. These two feedlots combined have a total one-time capacity of 230,000 head, ranking Simplot the seventh largest cattle feeding operation in the United States.
The feedlot in Grand View has the largest holding capability in the United States, with a one-time capacity of 150,000 head. The Grand View feedlot boasts superior climate, conditions and feedstuffs conducive to raising and feeding the best cattle in the United States.
The Pasco feedlot has a one-time capacity of 80,000 head. It specialized in custom-feeding operations.
Our feedlots utilize the latest computer-controlled monitoring system to better manage cattle feeding and health. Each feed truck is equipped with a computer that accurately feeds each pen of cattle and reports it back to the main system, on a real-time basis. Each of the hospitals is also equipped with computer equipment to record the health of each animal treated.
Combined with our 15 owned ranches, 37 farms and Western Stockmen's, our vertically integrated operation affords us the advantage of controlling virtually every facet of the beef production process. Source verification is, and will continue to be, a very important asset in the future as the world struggles with animal health issues.
Simplot also owns and operates its own fleet of cattle trucks that are licensed to operate in all the western states.
