The Simplot intern experience provides meaningful work experience and exposure to all areas of the Company. Internships are the best way for students to gain a realistic understanding of their chosen field within the Company.
Simplot internships are paid positions that are offered for a designated period of time, usually for a summer or a semester. Some internships can last as long as a year. Interns are assigned meaningful tasks to accomplish a variety of departmental and operational projects. With these projects, interns have the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge they are acquiring in school.
There are many benefits of pursuing an internship with the J. R. Simplot Company. One key highlight is that all Simplot interns have the opportunity to attend “Intern Week” at the Company’s headquarters in Boise, Idaho. Intern Week includes classroom training, site and field tours, networking, and team building activities. These experiences allow our interns to walk away with a comprehensive understanding of each of our business groups – Corporate, AgriBusiness, Food Group, Land & Livestock and Plant Sciences – as well as the opportunity to meet respective group leaders and the president & CEO.
As one of the world’s largest frozen-potato processors and beef cattle producers, Simplot also plays a major role in the fertilizer manufacturing and retail markets. There are many career opportunities within our diverse company, and an internship experience with Simplot will prove to be beneficial to any student in any discipline.
