Sometimes a work conference is just a work conference. But for Simplot AgriBusiness Demand Planning Analyst Twinkle Singh, attending the 2025 Women in Agriculture (WIA) Summit was an opportunity and an inspiration. The event was held Sept. 22-24 in Orlando, Florida.

It was Singh’s first time attending the conference in person. She said she was honored Simplot selected her to attend and take part in such a great opportunity. “It was truly inspirational. Apart from meeting other women in the ag industry, I met a lot of people from Simplot. I loved making internal and external connections. That was amazing.”

Seven hundred women attended the Summit, representing a variety of agribusiness and agribusiness-adjacent companies and roles across the ag value chain. Simplot sent 19 employees from around our diverse business.

The Summit focused on how agriculture in the U.S. is at a crossroads in 2025, yet remains strong and committed to opportunities, solutions and diversification. Simplot Vice President of AgriBusiness Wholesale Sales Jana Owens was one of those who attended and shared her thoughts.

“The Women in Ag conference was an inspiring experience—highlighting innovation like AI in agriculture, the importance of adapting to change, and the power of growing where we’re planted,” she recalled. “Conversations around common leadership challenges and the reminder that we are feeding the world were truly impactful. I especially valued connecting with the Simplot delegation and hearing their perspectives on these critical topics,” she added.

Singh also found networking opportunities to be a valuable part of the conference – including the chance to really connect with her own leaders from Simplot.

Conference presentations were another highlight. Singh said her favorite was a keynote about the outlook on agriculture commodities. Like her, the presenter didn’t grow up in the ag industry. This made her presentation especially relatable for Singh.

“I don't have an ag background other than my education,” she pointed out. “So it's motivational to listen to people who had an urban upbringing and are contributing so much to ag.”

The conference also provided a broader lens on the industry for Singh. She said that attending really opened her eyes to the endless opportunities available in ag, especially those that might not fall under the umbrella of what she studied in school.

“I feel like, especially when your education is in ag, you're like, ‘Okay, this was my major, this is what I can do.’ But there are so many other things out there you can do in a field as diverse as ag,” she said.

Simplot is proud to be a longtime supporter of the WIA Summit. We value providing this opportunity for women leaders throughout Simplot to meet and collaborate with others in the agricultural field, building knowledge and connections.

Mission accomplished, according to Singh. “I feel like this whole event is about being in the room with all these women and just talking to them, learning from them, and being inspired by them.”
